Gillian Buckley is an up-and-coming contemporary New Zealand portrait artist.
Her beautiful graphite and ink portrayals are both refined and timeless, with exquisite time-consuming detail.
Her love for art emerged at the age of 37 when she began attending a weekly drawing class in Kerikeri. After a few lessons she was hooked and discovered her passion for portraiture. She established her own unique style, and although her lessons have now stopped, it is clear by the fine works Gillian produces - that the passion continues to grow and her skills continue to develop.
" My work tells a story and it is often one which has come from my own personal experience, yet they are stories that all people can connect with and shape as their own."
